I started the Optifast program in August, 2010. While under doctor supervision I lost 45 pounds by November, 2010. Drinking the 5 shakes each day I felt no hunger. The most important thing is water. You should drink at least 80 ounces of water or more every day to stay healthy and accelerate the weight loss.
I would recommend anyone who wants to loose a significant amount of weight (50 pounds or more) to find a local hospital or weight loss doctor supervised program that uses Optifast as its product. The doctor supervision is very important as you will find that certain medications you are taking for high blood pressure, cholesterol and other medical conditions may have the dose diminished or taken out completely
Consider this only if you are in the BMI of greater than 39 and are ready to do everything that you are instructed to do to loose the weight.
There is a program for after weight loss that supports the patient and costs nothing. It provides you an opportunity to talk with other patients and a group counselor who has gone through the program before you. Many of these people have lost over 100 to 200 pounds and are maintaining/sustaining their weight loss for years. Some for more than 10 years.
